Our handmade 14K gold filled necklaces are great for everyday wear as well as a layering piece. They were first intended as meditation necklaces with a variety of calming stones that have meaning and give out certain energies.
Each necklace is handmade in collaboration with an artisan we met in Peru. We are introducing these new designs with a gold filled chain to add some gold and dainty sophistication to our jewelry collection.
GOLD FILLED: Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold alloy than gold plated and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better than gold plated. All it would take is one small scratch on a gold-plated piece to expose the jeweler's brass underneath.To make gold-filled pieces, the core metal is sandwiched between two layers of gold alloy which is then heated and passed through a roller several times - a process that both bonds the metals together and thins the sheet out. Gold-filled jewelry is best used where longevity and durability are a must.
The design for these pieces features a gold wrapped crystal quartz and gemstone as the pendant design.
The stones available in this design are jasper, tiger eye and pink rhodonite.
The fastening is a hook and eye for the rhodonite and screw clasps for the jasper and tiger eye necklaces.
All stones and crystals are sourced in South America.
These can even look great layering with the cord mandala designs as well.
